Executive LLM in Tel Aviv
Northwestern Pritzker School of Law and Tel Aviv University jointly offer a program that awards a dual degree of Master of Law in the fields of Public Law and International Law. The emphasis of the program is on public law in its broad sense, including constitutional law, administrative law, regulation, the international law of human rights and criminal law. Courses are taught by top professors from Tel Aviv and Northwestern law schools, providing students with sophisticated tools to deal with complicated issues of government administration and human rights.
The program is one-year in duration and is designed to meet the needs of distinguished, mid-career lawyers, to broaden their academic horizons and professional skills, which will prepare them for leading positions in law firms, government agencies and human rights organizations. Upon successful completion of this program, participants receive an Executive LLM degree from Northwestern Law and from Tel Aviv University (https://en-law.tau.ac.il/TAU_Northwestern).
Program Structure
The program consists of two semesters in Tel Aviv and four weeks in Chicago at Northwestern University. The program begins in Tel Aviv and after completing one semester of coursework students travel to Chicago for four weeks of intensive classroom instruction during the month of July. Successful completion of the program requires 20 hours of course work. The class schedule is planned to allow participants to continue their careers while studying and acquiring an expansive range of functional and managerial skills.
The Executive LLM Tel Aviv program is not intended to qualify foreign lawyers to take the bar examination or to practice law in the United States; in many states, including Illinois, these degrees are not sufficient to take the exam. Because bar exam qualification is subject to individual state regulation and may change year to year, it is up to the applicant and student to assess bar eligibility
