The minor offers students in any major outside the department a flexible path to improved knowledge of earth and planetary sciences.

Minor Requirements (7 units)

• 1 required core course: EARTH 210-0 Earth Systems Science and Climate Change (should be taken early)

• 2 additional core courses selected from EARTH 211-0, EARTH 214-0, or EARTH 215-0.

• 4 Advanced Studies courses

  • Any 300-level EARTH course may be applied towards the Advanced Studies requirement, but no more than one EARTH 399-0 or 400-level course substituted with permission from the Director of Undergraduate Studies.

  • One course must be selected from the Skills Areas listed under the Earth and Planetary Science major (see department website for mid-year updates and eligible offerings of EARTH 390-0).
